Mr. Lange is a mechanical engineer specializing in the design and forensic failure analysis of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/piping, and fire suppression systems.  He has experience designing the mechanical systems of healthcare facilities, educational facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities, office buildings and Federal Government projects.  Additionally, he spent time as a facilities engineer, evaluating existing mechanical systems, and providing recommendations as to maintenance, repair, and system upgrades.  His forensic engineering experience includes investigating construction defects, mechanical equipment failures, and complex system failures involving chillers, boilers, turbines, solar-thermal systems, heating and chilled water systems, and building automation controls.  Mr. Lange has provided expert testimony in deposition and at trial in local, state, and federal courts of law.

Mr. Lange also worked as a product development engineer designing archery equipment.  He has since analyzed mechanical failures in various product liability lawsuits, including some involving archery bow, crossbow, and firearms injuries.

Mr. Lange has consulted as an expert witness in patent infringement matters involving archery and HVAC products.  He has assisted attorney clients by providing technical analysis and opinion in patent validity challenges.  He has experience evaluating prior art patents, claim charts, claim constructions, and extrinsic evidence.   Mr. Lange has provided expert witness testimony in deposition during multiple inter partes review (IPR) proceedings.
